Passionate About
At Early Autism Services, we are passionate about the potential of your child. Since our founding in 2008, we’ve believed the best way to develop that potential is through proactive, personalized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs that enable families to work hand in hand with licensed professionals. We offer high-quality ABA therapy in Lansing and throughout the United States, Australia, and India.
What Is ABA Therapy?
ABA therapy is a flexible treatment based on the science of learning and behavior. The main goal of an ABA therapy program is to increase positive behaviors while decreasing negative ones. Our autism services in Lansing will help your child with skills such as language and communication while improving their attention and focus.
One of the main strategies EAS uses for our autism therapy in Lansing is positive reinforcement. When your child enacts a positive behavior such as making eye contact, they will receive a reward such as praise, a toy or extra playtime. This positive reinforcement encourages your child to continue using the skill until it becomes a behavior change.
The second strategy featured in our ABA services is understanding antecedents, or what happens before a behavior. Children also learn about consequences, or what happens after they perform behaviors. With this strategy, our Behavior Technicians can understand why a behavior is happening and how different consequences affect behavior. With practice, your child will be able to effectively replace inappropriate behavior with appropriate actions.
