Searching for a Provider for Autism Therapy in Atlanta, GA?
EAS provides both in-home and center based ABA therapy throughout the greater Atlanta area. Our team of BCBAs, Lead Therapists and Behavior Technicians are a group of highly-trained, caring individuals, whose primary concern is your child’s success. Our clinicians have extensive experience working with children with an autism diagnosis, and applying ABA therapy to help them reach their fullest potential.
In-Home ABA Therapy
Many families at EAS have programs which use a home-based therapy model. With in-home therapy programs, our clinicians work 1:1 with your child, in the comfort and privacy of your own home. This approach allows your child to build functional skills that can be tailored to their daily routines within their own home.
ABA therapy in the natural setting such as a home and day care is typically preferred as it allows the team to work with your child where their behaviors and skill deficits are occurring. This typically results in your child better learning the skills and generalizing skills outside of therapy sessions as well.
Center-Based ABA Therapy
While In-Home therapy is typically the recommended setting, at times a child needs ABA therapy in a more structured setting that can be controlled to better address maladaptive behaviors or skill deficits.
This can include children who are easily distracted or who have behaviors that require a more intensive/structured program. Sessions in the clinic do allow for goals to be targeted with peers in a structured setting that allows clients to build social skills.
Hybrid Programs: In-Home & Center Based Therapy
At Early Autism Services, our clinic program is a hybrid model which includes sessions both in the clinic and at home. Clients who receive hours in the clinic also receive hours in their home environment. This ensures that progress is generalized and transferred over into the natural setting. It also allows for parents to participate in sessions and to learn with their child to be able to implement strategies outside of sessions to ensure consistency and progress.
The percentage of clinic and in-home sessions are based on the clinical needs of each child and parent which is determined through the intake and assessment process. Eventually, the goal is that children are able to be successful with ABA therapy that takes place primarily in the natural environment.
Is a Hybrid Model Right for your Child?
Some needs that would make a child ideal for our hybrid program at EAS include:
- Child has made minimal progress doing only in-home therapy and would benefit from a more structured environment.
- Child has behaviors that are reinforced in the home environment that are impeding their ability to learn and make progress.
- Child has been removed from multiple day care or preschool settings due to maladaptive behaviors or skill deficits.
- Child is unable to be successful in an after-school program and would benefit from a more structured program to address skill deficits.
- Child would benefit from working on social skills goals in a small group setting.
